SITE VISIT

The Bacoor Reclamation and Development Project is a $150 million USD initiative, covering 90 hectares, focused on land reclamation and development in Bacoor, Cavite, Philippines. As Bacoor rapidly grows within the Greater Manila Area, this project aims to support urban expansion, improve infrastructure, and boost economic development.

Bumi Marine is proud to be shortlisted as a contractor for this challenge.

The project is expected to commence by the end of September 2024.

The project includes four inland reclamation islands behind the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), with an aggregate area of 90 hectares.

The project includes several key components:

Constructing Revetments: Building revetments, which are structures designed to protect the shoreline from erosion and damage caused by wave action. These will help stabilize the reclaimed land and prevent soil loss

Reclaiming Land: This involves transforming areas from bodies of water into usable land through the process of land reclamation. This reclaimed land will be developed for various uses, including residential, commercial, and industrial purposes.

Sourcing Commodities: Procuring essential materials and resources needed for construction and development. This may include sand, gravel, and other construction materials required for both the reclamation process and infrastructure development.

Constructing Coastal Protections: Developing infrastructure to safeguard the new land from potential coastal hazards, such as storm surges and high waves. This may involve building seawalls, dykes, or other protective barriers to ensure the longevity and safety of the reclaimed areas.

These components are crucial for ensuring the success of the Bacoor Reclamation and Development Project, contributing to its goals of urban expansion, infrastructure improvement, and economic growth.
